Before & After School
Ascension Lutheran School is a busy community before and after school. Athletic Teams practice and compete throughout the year. Our Extended Care program offers before & after school child care. And we offer a variety of Extracurricular Activities for students in grades TK-8.
Extended Care
Extended Care service is provided for children enrolled in transitional kindergarten through eighth grade. The hours are 7:30 AM until the start of school (9:30 AM on Mondays and 8:30 AM on all other days) and after school from 3:00-6:00 PM.
Children arriving before 8:00 AM must go to the Extended Care room to be signed in by the supervisor. Students may arrive at 8:00 AM (9:00 AM Mondays) or later without a fee.
Cost and Billing
Our Extended Care has an open door policy, so children do not have to be enrolled ahead of time. For the 2021-2022 school year, the charge for Extended Care is $7 per hour, is charged in 15-minute increments, and families are billed as they use it. All students on campus without a parent after school is dismissed at 3:00 PM (who are not participating in another school sponsored event) will be checked into Extended Care. After 6:00 PM a late fee will be assessed. All charges will be included on monthly TADS statements.
Staff Credentials
All Extended Care staff is trained in CPR and First Aid and is familiar with our emergency/security procedures. The Extended Care supervisor is on campus throughout the school day overseeing recesses and lunch and gets to know each child.
Staycations
Our Staycation programs provide child care during holiday breaks; they are priced separately.
Extracurricular Activities
The Learning Continues
In addition to the Specialty Programs that are part of our daily curriculum for all students, Ascension Lutheran School offers a variety of after school Extracurricular Activities. Each student has opportunities to explore and grow their interests beyond the classroom. We offer 5 sessions per year that are each 6 weeks long.
Notification of upcoming Extracurricular Activities are communicated through activity fairs, emails, and fliers. Past activities have included Young Rembrandts art instruction, academic chess, Crusader choir, sports fundamentals classes, and many more.
Connecting with Christ
Ascension Lutheran School students are invited to participate in the Children's Ministries activities organized and conducted by Ascension Lutheran Church. Children's Ministries programming includes Sunday School for children three years old through eighth grade and Kids in Christ, a bi-monthly, after school program for children in grades 4-6.
