TO SIXTH GRADE

Hello!  My name is Matt Cahill and it is my pleasure to be the 6th grade advisor this year.  As the students begin their Academy work, we will be talking about and strengthening leadership skills.  I will also be teaching 6th Religion & Math, along with teaching 7th & 8th Math.

 

I grew up in the Midwest while my teaching career began in New York City teaching high school.  The move to the West Coast began my middle school career for the past eight years.  When not singing or playing music, I enjoy camping and fishing with my wife and two children.

Supply List

6th GRADE SUPPLY LIST   

2025-2026

 

Homeroom 

  • 4 – boxes of tissues

  • 4– roll of paper towels

  • 1 – canister disinfecting wipes

  • 1-box of #2 Pencils (Ticonderoga preferred) these will be distributed to students as needed

 

Supplies Needed Across Classes

  • One large binder with 8 divider pockets or folders, filler paper/college ruled, and room for the assignment book each student will receive on the first day of school.

  • 2 correcting pens (red, green etc.)

  • Blue or black pen

  • Pencils (#2 or mechanical)

  • 12-pack of colored pencils

  • White Glue Sticks needed for ALL classes

  • Highlighters

  • Earbuds to be kept in locker for classroom use

  • Personal clipboard (optional)

 

History

  • No additional supplies needed outside of those listed in supplies need across classes

 

English

  • 2  Composition (writing notebook) notebook (200pg)

  • 1  3-Prong folder pockets optional

  • Post it notes (medium 2x2 and small 1.5x2)

  • Highlighters (at least 4 colors)

 

Science

  • No additional supplies needed outside of those listed in supplies need across classes

 

Math

  • No additional supplies needed outside of those listed in supplies need across classes

 

Spanish

  • No additional supplies needed outside of those listed in supplies need across classes

 

P.E.

  • P.E. uniform from Skobel Uniform Co. -  shorts gym wear & t-shirt gym wear - athletic shoes

  • Girls need to bring one package of hair bands

 

Religion

  • Composition notebook (wide ruled)

  • Bible

 

Outdoor Classroom

  • Plastic folder with 3 prongs at center and two bottom pockets

 

Miscellaneous supplies

Students may also want the following supplies:

  • Markers

  • Locker shelf- wire pre-assembled

 

** ALL STUDENTS IN GRADES 3-8 MUST USE THE ASCENSION LUTHERAN ASSIGNMENT BOOK. EACH STUDENT WILL BE GIVEN AN ASSIGNMENT BOOK ON THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL.
