SUBSTITUTE TEACHER POSITION AVAILABLE

We are currently searching for a confident and experienced Substitute Teacher to join our team. If you are a friendly and competent professional with an interest in education, then we’re interested in you.

A Substitute Teacher is responsible for the well-being and safety of the students, taking attendance, maintaining a functioning classroom, utilizing classroom management skills, leaving a clean classroom, and teaching the provided curriculum.

 

Substitute Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Adhering to the curriculum and lesson plans assigned by the regular teacher.
  • Following procedures and achieving lesson goals.
  • Assigning and explaining homework.
  • Complying with all school regulations and policies at all times.
  • Taking attendance and documenting daily notes.
  • Ensuring the classroom and workstations are kept clean and orderly.
  • Overseeing the normal classroom rhythms and activities.
  • Compiling a report for the teacher for when they return.

Substitute Teacher Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in teaching is preferred.
  • Certificate in teaching or substitute teaching.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Provide a resume, 3 letters of reference/reference to contact.
  • Wiling to have a livescan background check.

 

Day to Day Substitute:

$150 per full day

$80.00 per 3.5 hours or less

INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT POSITION AVAILABLE

 

An instructional assistant supports the primary teacher in a classroom. As an instructional assistant, you work with students to help them understand the lesson taught by the teacher. You also help supervise students and organize the learning materials. Other job duties may include grading papers, preparing supplies for the lesson plan, and straightening up the classroom. Teachers rely on instructional assistants to manage the students and keep them focused, especially in large classes.

 

This is a part time (20 hours per week) position. Hours can vary in the school day - 8:30 AM-3 PM

  • Enjoy working with children.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to manage groups of pupils and deal with challenging behavior.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A passion for helping students succeed.

 

Requirements

  • An associate degree in education, assistant teacher, child development, or a related field.
  • Teaching Credential preferred but not required
  • Or, passing of CBEST
  • Or, 2 years experience as an instructional assistant
  • 3 letters of reference
  • 3 references to contact
  • Willing to have a livescan background check
